Payday = Money Math
Jul. 8th, 2023 12:21 amMy end-of-week gift to myself was a 24-pack of Doorables, reduced from $40 to less than $22 AFTER all taxes & fees.
I just spent almost $40 on some essentials (hemp cream, anti-chafe balm, vitamins). Having a body is annoying and expensive.
Tomorrow or Sunday I will spend close to $200 on enough groceries to do zero shopping until next weekend.
My most wanted Prime Days Maybe Deals are pretty much what you would expect. The Perfect Desk, comfortable chair for The Perfect Desk, area rug for the chair, folding kitchen shelves, kitchen cart, desktop computer, fancy blender, storage bench. Of course I will also check out the display shelves I have my gay heart set on, but they're pretty affordable already.
When I bought my weekly present, I was and still am tempted by other deals on Doorables, such as . . .
Snow White and all seven dwarfs for less than $9, reduced from $17
Bundle: Olaf Presents & Stitch sets - usually almost $40, currently less than $30
Multi Peek Series 5 - $8.50 for 5 OR 6 OR 7 figures (I am specifically interested in S5 because some of the possibilities are all three fairies and both stepsisters)
$6.50 (usually $11) for Movie Moments, which of course I really like. Two figures AND a scene/tiny playset in a stackable display cube? Come on. These could be a dangerous way to spend a lot of money in a short amount of time!
Birthday Countdown Calendar - 14 figures (including two from TURNING RED, Young Tiana, and is that fucking Vidia?!) for $13
I don't ~super~ want the 50th Anniversary Collector Set, but $16 is certainly better than $19 for twelve figures
I haven't bought any Across the Spider-Verse action figures yet, and unfortunately my most wanted (Hobie Brown, aka Spider-Punk) keeps going out of stock. I would have said keeps "going in and out," but he's mostly out. Next time he's in stock, if he's $30 or less, I should just order him right away.
If nothing my room Needs is on sale, I might look around for toys that aren't Doorables.
I just pre-ordered MONICA RAMBEAU on Amazon. They don't seem to have RITA REPULSA, so I'll have to pre-order her from Hasbro Pulse ASAP. She is actually the reason I should get the Doorables Birthday Countdown Calendar. If she really does ship on the first, she'll probably arrive on or before my actual birthday on the fourth. And toys are the only reason I'm even somewhat excited about this birthday. Heh.
Oh shit, the prospect of saving them to open on my birthday could so easily justify purchasing so many Doorables while they're on sale, oh shiiiiiiiiiit
Whether or not they are on sale, these are some of the toys I might spend money on as my weekly reward for surviving a whole week of stupid sometime sooner than later:
DCSG Teen to Super Life Supergirl (Current Price: $37)
Pink Ninja Ranger - Kimberly ($17)
FiguArts Captain Marvel ($50)
The Marvels: Kamala and Carol ($25 each, same as Monica)
5 Surprise Mini Fashion 2-pack ($10)
This Storm ($45) (I already have a variant who looks exactly like this one except that her outfit is black)
~I really want the Kat & Kat with Cat two-pack, but because I didn't buy it back when it was affordable, it is currently obscenely expensive on Amazon and I don't need it badly enough to shop around at this time~
Appa Pillow Pet ($24 - ooooh, that is a sale, he's usually $35)
Ariel and Sisters Small Doll Set ($34)
The Loyal Subjects: Sokka with his bag ($15), Aang with Momo ($9), others?
Q Posket Terra ($18)
MLP Meet the Mane 6 ($27)
Mirrorverse Maleficent ($20), Hook ($20), and Belle ($13)
Aisha Vs Scorpina ($24)
PRESIDENT BARBIE ($50)
Storm E. Sky and Cool Cat ($15)
And, someday, maybe I'll spend money on Monster High again. I still want like 80% of all of G3, but obviously I'm distracted by other toys at the moment.Basically itching to order more Doorables as I type.
