Wow, it has been a week. On Tuesday (which was our Sunday, instead of our Saturday like usual), after a few days of telling ourselves that they would definitely say yes when we asked if we could start renting their studio a month and a half early, Frankie actually talked to Scott & Suzanne. They informed her that we actually won't be able to rent the fucking studio because they will be trying to sell the house.

We reached out to Jenn (FOH Manager) and Daniel (Executive Chef) about possibly staying here on the ranch for the summer. Jenn in particular was very helpful, and it has all been sorted. So now, instead of being laid off and evicted, we are just getting a mandatory vacation for approximately five weeks. As much as I was looking forward to returning to Coupeville and staying there for good this time, I am actually somewhat relieved that we'll be staying here for several more months. I really like my room and my bathroom and my closet, and I was seriously worried about my chances of finding a job in Coupeville.

Anyway, we didn't officially get that confirmed until (?) Friday, so I spent a few days worrying that we actually might be homeless, and on top of that, it has just been a very long week. We were scheduled for six days because a party of almost fifty guests arrived on Wednesday, and in those six days we worked almost forty-seven hours. My brain is obviously excited about the overtime, but my body is even more excited that it's finally the weekend. My only plans for today are to eat gummies and read Goblet of Fire, which has been taking a lot longer than I thought it would, since I only had time for a chapter or maybe two every night after all that work.

I ordered a few things from Amazon on Saturday night. I knew this would happen, but my order currently says "Arriving Friday," even though I placed the order two nights ago and today is Tuesday and MY ORDER STILL HAS NOT SHIPPED.

I almost added this Mixlings two-pack to my cart, but talked myself out of it since there is a very good chance I would get two I already have, and all the Mixlings I kept when I left El Cajon have been living in a backpack since we left Coupeville, so whenever I finally unpack them here, they will almost feel new again, which means I really didn't need to spend that ten dollars right now.

Speaking of toys, though, I saw this playset on YouLoveIt and am seriously tempted to actually buy it. I thought the mouse looked vaguely familiar, and I was right. I've had this set of nine figures saved for later for a long time. and now I am thinking I might actually go ahead and order it . . . soon?

After tomorrow, we're scheduled to come in at 1:00 four days in a row, and then this mandatory vacation time starts. Those four days are in a new pay period, so we'll have a tiny paycheck on or around Monday, April first. And before that, of course, vacation time will start with our checks for this 86-hour pay period we just finished. Obviously I am beyond excited for that one.

When we first found out we were going to be allowed to continue living here during the off-season, Frankie and I did discuss the possibility of scheduling some sort of excellent vacation in Seattle or San Diego or Tijuana, but I think we've both decided that what we should actually do is save as much money as possible and maybe take a few day trips while we have all this free time, but mostly we're going to focus on self-care and stuff. And get ready for summer, which will apparently be so busy that we might have ten hours of overtime every week. I hope this is really true.

One really nice thing about this more-than-a-month of time off is that we'lll actually be available to drive to Bozeman on Mondays, when Elevated has edibles for 15% off.

A few days ago I made a new work playlist which includes the song "Carry On" from Sailor Moon, so now I want to watch that again. But I also want to watch Buffy. And Doctor Who, and Harley Quinn, and Schitt's Creek, and Yellowjackets, and just a bunch of other progrums I've already seen before . . .

Oh! Frankie and I have actually been watching CHARMED again. Episode 403 was particularly funny. It opens with Piper, Phoebe, and Cole chasing some evil in the car EVEN THOUGH COLE CAN TELEPORT, and Frankie died laughing right away. Last night we watched 405 and 406, so it shouldn't be too much longer before we get to 412, which is my favorite episode in the whole series for a lot of reasons, not least of which is that it contains the first appearance of The Seer.

Okay, it's almost noon. Time to eat some breakfast, then eat some gummies and take a few pillows down to the reading room and spend some hours in Goblet of Fire. Damn, that sounds so happy I could cry.
