Happy Birthday TO MEEEEEEE
Sep. 23rd, 2025 02:11 pm This morning I got up & got dressed in time to catch the 7:45 shuttle and eat a little breakfast --- both of which were sort of just killing time until the post office opened at 8:00. I walked in approximately ten minutes later, about to leap out of my skin with excitement to pick up three book pakidges, including one of the best birthday presents I will ever give or receive in my time on this planet:
An almost-complete set of Animorphs paperbacks that I bought on eBay for less than $300! (The last time I looked up a complete set of the books, the cheapest options were like $550.)
When this seller said "almost" complete, they meant that out of sixty-four books they are only missing ten. The first four of those ten are already on their way to me. When all four have been delivered, I'll start ordering the final six.
Obviously, I am beyond thrilled. I had resigned myself to re-reading all of the books someday on my Kindle, and of course the story is still excellent, but the actual paperback BOOKS are a huge upgrade for me.
I have been and still am very excited about all of the books I've been buying lately, but nothing can top the pure nostalgic thrill of having Animorphs on my bookshelf again. I'm so happy I could cry.
P.S. Another one of today's pakidges contained all twelve Everworld books, which were also written by K. A. Applegate.
I guess I might as well say that the third pakidge was Dawn Undercover by Anna Dale, which I read once approximately twenty years ago, but I do remember that it's quite funny and for this reason I enjoyed the heck out of it.
