Things, And Also: Stuff
Oct. 27th, 2025 02:28 amCaleb Hearon has been on my radar for a while, but I've only seen shorts on yootoob. Until a few days ago. I watched his recent interview with Seth Meyers, which was so fucking funny that I watched his comedy special that night. Which was so fucking funny that I watched it again the next night! I might even make time to listen to his podcast, which I rarely do these days, but he is just that funny.
Because I watched Caleb Hearon's special, HBO Max recommended another one I have been wanting to watch for a while, so I thought, why not? Hannah Einbinder! I had never seen any of her stand-up, but figured I would probably love it, since she is very funny in every episode of Hacks: l was right! She's brilliant! I will definitely watch this again!
Obviously, I have started another re-watch of Hacks, which continues to be one of the funniest television progrums I have ever seen in my entire life. And I haven't seen season four, which premiered in April, so that will be exciting.
Other things I might like to watch soon include, but are in no way limited to:
* The V Vitch
* The Curse of Bridge Hollow (I have never seen this, but it sounds fantastic)
* The Mitchells vs The Machines (ditto)
* K-Pop Demon Hunters (still have not made time for a second viewing, even though I listen to "How It's Done" and "What It Sounds Like" frequently)
* other Halloween movies and teevee, such as the Buffy episode where everyone turns into whatever their costume is . . .
Speaking of television, Gen V is so goddamn fucking good that I kind of feel an itch to watch both seasons again very soon. (Partly because season two has this narrative about how Andre was a great friend to Emma, and I hate myself for being this cynical, but I can only remember one time when they ever interacted outside of a group scene, so I want to look out for this the next time I watch season one.)
In vintage Barbie shopping news, I purchased a Pizza Party Skipper for a little less than $60, which was very exciting because she's usually at least $80. Clearly I will have to get her best friend Courtney (one of my favorite dolls from childhood) soon, but tonight I got an offer for Beyond Pink Barbie and bought her for $25.34. Never had this one as a kid, but I still remember the commercials. This line is interesting because for once I actually like Barbie the best, but I'll probably get Christie and Teresa as well. I dunno, though - there are other vintage Christies and Teresas who I like better . . .
Anyway, other than vintage dolls, the only thing I have attempted to purchase lately was a brilliant folding rolling bed table. Well, technically I have purchased it, but that was days ago, and Amazon still doesn't have a delivery date available.
Haven't been reading as much lately, which doesn't feel great. I bet if I did make time to read every day I would be less burnt out.
