Dec. 1st, 2020 06:56 pmIn the last week I have purchased five new Cloudees, three of whom were not doubles - the CHEETAH, and the penguin & fox from the beach set. The cheetah was one of the three I snagged for half off on Happy Fucking Black Friday, which was also why the sets were half off. I considered the birthday set once again, but even for such a low price I just don't think the two new pets, the bear and whatever its friend is supposed to be, are cute. At all.
I do wish the HFBF deal had let me buy at least three more, because the cheetah, who I am thrilled about because she was one of my most wanted and is now my new fave, came with my third skunk and second "super rare" alien. I might try to sell the skunk or re-gift it, but I'm keeping the double alien. She was my fave of my collection, but as soon as I opened the cheetah she passed the crown. Heh. So now those two hang out on my nightstand, and the double alien is displayed with everybody else on their shelf (which I need to take a picture of when it's not no-sun time . . .).
And then I just opened the penguin & fox. Obviously I bought the set just for them, so with the set being $12 I got each of them for $6, making them some of the cheapest Cloudees I have yet purchased (the very cheapest being the three from the previous paragraph, of course) and that's always a thrill. But I probably would have paid full price for the set, making them the two most expensive Cloudees I had yet purchased, because they really are that cute. I love love love love them.
The set itself is a real unboxing Experience, by the way. Hundred percent worth the money if you are giving this to an actual child. All I've done so far was cut the tape and unfold the actual box, then punch out the penguin and fox, which also freed both of their babies (who I didn't really care about in pics, but in person they are also super cute) and sand packs. I really didn't buy the set for any of the many accessories, but I am going to have fun opening the rest of the little boxes!
So yeah, 10/10, would buy again. Heh.
Anyway.
Since I had to buy a new phone on Saturday, I did not reach my goal of saving $100 after expenses. But T-Mobile and Netflix were AutoPay-ed out of my account yesterday, and today I paid rent and took one slightly less than $30 trip to the grocery store. So the fact that I currently have $29 to last until Thursday is not quite as shameful as it could appear to a not-me. On Thursday, my goal is to save $200 for bills and $100 for "fun," which in this context could be interpreted as "Yule gifts." And then I'll have $136 left for food and other expenses. Of which it seems I have remarkably few this week: $7 for Disney Plus, and then no other specific non-food non-fun expenses until the thirteenth, and there are currently two full pay periods between then & now, so my plan to save $200 a week for bills is already kicking ASS.
I do have one more incoming Cloudee. Had to order a new case for my new delicate phone, so one S2 snuck its way in there. Or probably S1. The listing has a pic of S2 but every time I've had any delivered to SD the warehouse has sent S1s. So we'll see. If it is S1, I already have the poodle, sloth, platypus, shivery bunny, and tiger, plus I know I'm getting another five for Yule (quiet squee), meaning I only need four, so my odds of this one being a double are quite high.
The four I need are the bat, unicorn, polar bear, and sunshine bunny. Of those four, my most wanted are sunshine bunny because she'd look so cute next to shivery bunny. And the bat because he's perpetually tired and SAME.
I rather doubt that this newest one will be an S2, but IF it is, my odds of a double are miniscule: The only reason I have any from this series is Lori, who sent the beloved unicat for my birthday. I'm not interested in an official ranking at this time, but she's definitely one of my top five of the seventeen I currently own.
If I am lucky enough to get another S2, though, my most wanted are: twin puppies, snorkeling elephant, lion, yellow koala, sleepy owl & sloth, okay, I am basically naming all of them! Heh. Whatever.
The two blerghs from the beach set are the only ones I don't want, and three series times fourteen equals forty-two, so my seventeen are four less than half, and I really would like to get them all eventually.
What the heck, I'll break down the ones I need from S3 as well while I'm here.
1. BUBBLY MERCAT, my #1 most wanted from all three series
2. FIERCE PHOENIX
3. RED HOT PANDA
4. DELIGHTFUL DRAGON
5. PERKY PEGASUS
Not a whole lot to say about the other four, but I want them in that order. Phoenix is definitely second most wanted after mercat, pegasus is definitely least most favorite. Of this series. The twin puppies are currently my second most wanted from all three series. Or second and third, I guess. And then the snorkeling elephant. And then, NO, I said I'm not interested in an official ranking right now! Which, even if I was, any all-three-series-es most wanted would probably break down shortly after those three because I really do love them ALLLLLL. So if I did an official Most Wanted In Order ranking, which I'm not going to do, but if I did, if I DID, it would have to be divided by series. Meaning S2 would take me a lot longer to rank than S3 or S1.
So yeah, I love Cloudees. I've also been treating myself to a few Equestria Girls Minis, because I'm quite sad that I donated these when I moved out of my place in Shoreline last year.
