El Cajon: *Things* I Will *Need*
Dec. 6th, 2024 07:21 pm * At least one rotating tower fan (my old apartment was so goddamn hot that I had two) - the room does have a ceiling fan, but it's basically useless. Well, not completely useless. It's a good place to hang Tiny Storm.
* Some sort of table and/or cart. I used to have this table and this cart, which were perfectly useful (honestly, the cart is so useful that when I move back I might eventually get two, or even three) . . . but I also love this, even though it is ridonkulously expensive. Well, actually, it's ridonkulously expensive and probably rather annoying to assemble, so maybe I'll just get the cheap table and multiple little carts. The little carts do come in five different colors, which is very nice.
* Some sort of mini fridge with a freezer. Obviously, this is absolutely essential. I might even ask if I can order one a few days before I leave Death Valley so that it's already there when I arrive in El Cajon to sign paperwork and get my new key!
* At least one RAPID MAC COOKER (this thing is fucking amazing). Perhaps I'll get this set, which comes with two ~and~ a few other pieces, including an omelet maker? That would definitely be useful.
* Lots of pillows!
* Shower caddy - I like this one.
* Blender (I suppose an argument could be made that I don't "actually" "need" a blender - but shut up, I want to be able to make my own smoothies every day! They are healthy and tasty!)
* First aid kit, 'cuz I am too clumsy to not have one.
* Some sort of over-the-door hooks for my work shirts and jacket
* Rice cooker!
* Eating utensils!
* Electric kettle and at least two or three mugs - oh, and tea bags, of course. And honey.
* Fruit bowl!
* Some sort of basic storage bin(s) to keep under my bed.
* Some sort of storage to keep at the foot of my bed. Not sure if I would rather have a trunk or a small bookshelf. Maybe both, if space allows? That would be ideal. I could keep extra blankets & pillowcases in the trunk, and use the small bookshelf for my go bag, library books, etc.
Good gosh, I am so fucking ready to go back. All I can think about is how fucking peaceful it will be to have some weed, turn on the gigantic smrt teevee, and eat something while I watch Buffy. While Frankie is far, far away.
