Yesterday was kind of a crazy day at work because I got zero sleep the night before, so I had many cups of chai and also more than one cup of coffee.

And then, right around the time when I was about to clock out for my lunch break, the baker walked over and said, "The health inspector is at The Ranch right now."

So that was an intense fun hour or so of dashing around getting everything as perfect as we could. Chef and Jeremy both showed up, of course --- and made both cooks get out of the kitchen because they don't have hats.

I did eventually take my lunch break, but it was after the five-hour point of my shift.

When I showed up tonight, Chef stopped me about a minute before I clocked in to ask if I would like a night off. Apparently, business is just that slow today.

I was thrilled, but of course I had to clarify that he was serious and I wasn't in trouble.

And he reluctantly told me that I am in trouble for yesterday, because I did not clock out for my lunch break before that stupid five-hour point. He knows this is bullshit, especially after I pointed out that I would have taken it sooner if we hadn't been busy getting ready for the health inspector, but the dumb rule comes from above him.

When I work nights I always make sure to order my dinner before 7:00, because that is the official cut-off for ordering employee meals (actually, it might be 7:30 --- but in my head it is 7:00 and I respect that). Since my shift begins at 6:00, the dumb rule is never an issue.

When I work mornings, we usually have zero grown-ups in the kitchen. In front of house or back of house. Literally no grown-ups whatsoever.

And even if they are around, no one cares when I take my break.

I'm pretty sure this is not the first time I have ever broken this dumb rule.

The rule is dumb because it is perfectly legal to clock in, pour myself a cup of tea, get a few things done while it steeps, order some breakfast, and then clock out to eat it . . . like half an hour after my shift begins. And then spend the rest of my shift on my feet in thee hottest place on the planet.

It's also dumb because when I work mornings I also work afternoons (7:00 to 3:00), so if I feel like it I can ask the cooks to make me breakfast and lunch in the same shift. Meaning, technically, the company has to pay me to eat one of them.
Technically, the company could pay me to eat both of them. I do not have to eat a meal during my break.

Ugh, what a dumb rule.

Disney Princess Sparkling Dolls
I won't order another one until my Ariel at least ships, but I do want most of these.

More Beanie Babies
Of course my current Happy Meal toy purchasing habits have included a few sets of Teenie Beanie Babies. I'm currently waiting for one more set to arrive, and then I'm going to open them all!
eBay has convenient Beanie Baby + Buddy sets. So far, I have ordered one for Patty the Platypus and Pinky the Flamingo. Both of whom happened to be included in the first set of Teenie Beanie Babies. Part of my brain likes the idea of eventually getting a Baby + Buddy set for the other eight characters from that first set, but I probably won't actually do that. I might buy one of Bongo the Monkey, though. He was my favorite when I first got into these toys way back when.
They are not urgent at all, but at some point I do want to get the four international bear Teenie Beanie Babies.
And, earlier today I spent $22.56 on a lot of eight Beanie Babies! Two cats and six dogs!
I do need to be careful about my spending right now, and toys like these are the reason I need to be careful. They're not expensive, but it is way too easy to buy too many.

Miniso MLP Blind Boxes
Alright, so I just got Applejack from eBay! This seller included lots of fun freebies. Mostly trading cards, but also a few stickers and a fancy pen, all of which featured Applejack!
The same seller is currently selling similar sets with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. I am considering both (more Rainbow at the moment, since I do already have Pinkie), but also messaged the seller to inquire about the possibility of them maybe having Rarity as well. And they responded! Not yet, but they will have her in a few weeks! And she happens to be their absolute favorite, so they will be including lots of fun extras!
I AM SO THRILLED!
Since I do already have Pinkie Pie, Rarity is by far my most wanted of these figures. I have said before that if it was just about aesthetics, she would be my favorite of the Mane Six. And that is especially true here. I really love the way they colored her hair.
So there's a very good chance that I will order Rainbow soon, a less strong chance that I'll order Pinkie Pie as well, and I hope that as soon as they list Rarity for sale I can drop everything and buy her right away!
Eventually I will get Fluttershy and Twilight as well!

MLP Funko Vinyl Statues
Honestly, I should not even be thinking about these right now. They're obviously awesome, and at the moment I'm only considering like three or five, but if I do buy any toys right now I can think of several others that I want even more than them.

Books!
Right now I am having a lot of fun re-reading The Mediator, which is probably my favorite Meg Cabot series.
But she's so much fun that I will need to order more soon (The Mediator was unfortunately canceled after six books, with one more published years later; if Meg wanted to write them, I would have gladly read at least twice as many).
Last night I ordered the first six books of The Princess Diaries. Sooner or later I will get seven through ten, plus all of the extra books, but I also really want All-American Girl and its one sequel. Plus 1-800-WHERE-R-YOU, of course!

Work Stuff
A back-up speaker would be awesome, and I should also order at least one more fan pretty soon.

P.S. Here is a list of my current incomings:
Pterodactyl Dinozord
geranium cleaning tablets
Sparkling Princess Ariel (who has not shipped yet)
mouthwash
dryer sheets
a third four-pack of cooling towels
one 32-pack of batteries for my back-up alarm clock
hand soap
toilet paper
Remembrance (the final Mediator book, which I have never read!)
Beanie Baby + Buddy Patty the Platypus
California Demon by Marilyn Singer
I Love Everybody (and Other Atrocious Lies) by Laurie Notaro
Happy Meal toys: transforming food
Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
WITCH Happy Meal toys (oh my gush)
1999 Teenie Beanie Babies set
first six books in The Princess Diaries, all hardcover
Beanie Baby + Buddy Pinky the Flamingo
lot of eight Beanie Babies cats and dogs
