My Adventures With Superman
Aug. 23rd, 2023 11:08 pmI finally paid for a month of Max specifically to watch this show, and it's fucking adorable?
In the first minute of the show, young Clark saves a mom & baby who would have died in a car crash. He then flies for the first time.
When he gets his suit, the ship just kind of gives it to him, Magical Girl-style. But Martha has to add a belt and "shorts" to complete the look.
At the end of episode four, Lois figures out that Clark is Superman. In episode five, she forces him to admit it.
I don't know, it's just a thoroughly adorable progrum. Superman isn't my favorite superhero, but of course I do respect him for more or less inventing the genre. Romance isn't my favorite thing, but Lois & Clark are still one of THE most prominent couples in the history of superhero fiction after all these many decades. And this is a delightful retelling of their story. I've only seen five of the eight episodes that are currently available, and I am eager to find out if they and Jimmy will ever get promoted beyond being interns. Or if Clark will ever learn Kryptonese so he can understand what his hologram dad is saying. Both of those things do seem inevitable, but we'll see . . .
