Things I Want But Don't "Need"
Feb. 15th, 2020 09:14 pmSince I currently have ZERO money to spend on fun stuffs, now seems like the perfect time to make a list of the things I would buy if a suitcase full of money crashed through the roof . . .
1. Complete set of Animorphs books by K.A. Applegate (and her husband, Michael Grant) (and several ghostwriters)
PRICE: $235-$250 on eBay, which is a pretty good deal for 64-66 books (the two Alternamorphs books, which can be described as Animorphs x Choose Your Own Adventure, would be nice to have again, but not absolutely crucial)
I started reading these in 1998, I think, and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. This was my first fandom. Jake, Cassie, Marco, Ax, Tobias, and Rachel are some of my favorite fictional characters in the history of fiction. Words fail to convey how badly I am itching to get my claws on these books again.
Other book series I would love to re-read sooner than later include: Replica, T*Witches, Circle of Three, Sweep (which I actually am re-reading right now! Just got an omnibus edition of the first three books for ten bucks!), SVJH, Bailey School Kids, Fablehaven, and Amber Brown.
2. LEGO Hogwarts 71043
PRICE: $240-$600
I'm really curious to find out how long it would take me to build this, since it is six. thousand. and. twenty. pieces!
3. The cutest pencil case in the world
PRICE: $8.88
My favorite is the gray one, which I just noticed is a dollar cheaper than the others, but they are all adorable. The only one I wouldn't want for myself would be the pink, which I might buy to give to a kid, although the kid I'm thinking of would probably like it better if it had a unicorn instead of a cat.
4. A new digital camera
PRICE: $285
Because I fucking miss taking pictures! Obviously my phone does have a camera, but it's not the same
5. Golden Girls shot glasses
PRICE: $21.99
These are so great, the fact that I hardly ever drink anymore is completely irrelevant.
6. Chip mug
PRICE: $14.20
Um, duh . . .
7. This lap desk
PRICE: $40
I used to have one like this, but smaller. I use my laptop every day, of course, and I'm almost always in bed when I do, and YOU KNOW WHAT? THIS MIGHT ACTUALLY COUNT AS A "NEED."
8. This sweater
PRICE: $26
One of the most perfect things I have ever seen in my life.
9. At least three more colors of this pencil box
PRICE: $10
I have the pink one and it's so great. I'd like to get the red, blue, yellow, and gradient.
