ryanreactsToday was my first big payday! Direct Deposit still hasn't gotten started yet, so I had to wait until I got to work to ask for a paper check. Shortly after I got it, I decided I might as well go ahead and cash it through Venmo so I could order a fan right away thank you please. Cashing a check on Venmo is not difficult, but there are a few steps, and each step is crucial. You have to type in the check amount, then submit a photo of the front of the check, then submit a photo of the back of the check, then wait a few minutes until the app says it's ready for the final step, which is to write "VOID" across the front of the check and submit a photo of that.
Literally right as I was submitting the photo of my voided check, the wifi disappeared. And stayed disappeared for a while. I was somewhat anxious that I would have to go through the whole process again (which might be difficult since I had already voided the check!), but the wifi came back after less than an hour and the money was waiting for me. Unfortunately, they gave me two options: receive it for free IN TEN DAYS, or receive it in minutes for almost $50. Obviously I chose that option, because I cannot afford to wait ten days, but I am fucking bitter that this company can't set up Direct Deposit a little sooner.
And then I got even more bitter because transferring the money from Venmo to my bank account cost another $16.
ANYWAY, the point is I finally have the money! I can actually buy things I need! Callooh, callay, frabjous day!
I ordered a box fan as soon as I could. It should arrive on Friday, which means I should be able to pick it up on Saturday, if not Friday.
That was a Walmart Plus order, but I went to Amazon for some new earbuds and a pack of sixteen hangers. The total was enough to qualify for free shipping, but I still said yes to a cheap one-week trial of Prime so they'll be delivered faster. They're currently scheduled to arrive on Monday, which I guess is the quickest that Amazon can deliver to the middle of the desert.
I also paid my roommate back for the work shirt that he so kindly bought for me.
What else? Well, Yellowjackets will be back on the fourteenth, so I'll probably pay for that on the thirteenth. Half of my phone bill is due on the fifteenth. I'm most likely going to treat myself to some ice cream on my next day off. Between now and next payday I might pay for a few more necessities and slash or creature comforts, but I know I need to save save save as much goddamn fucking money as possible.
I really need to get a buzz cut sooner than later, though. Working in a kitchen is just too darn hot for my hair to be as long as it is right now.
