Heckin’ Win
Aug. 18th, 2025 07:43 amWhen I arrived at work last night, Andy was there instead of Eva. He immediately told me that he was working a double shift and therefore leaving right now. Obviously I told him to please get out right away. Because I was on my own, the “wrapping up dinner dishes” portion of my night took about three hours. Which I did not mind at all, because getting paid to wash dishes is very fun and I miss it.
Anyway, this meant that my night cleaning took longer than usual. I clocked out around 4:40 (easily the longest I have ever stayed on the clock since they switched me to overnights). After that I walked home, ate a weed brownie, changed my clothes, and walked down to The Ranch for breakfast. I left a little after 5:00, so the sun was still just thinking about waking up, so I walked the long way, since I was not confident in my ability to find the unofficial walking path in the dark - no, not even with my flashlight.
On the way home I did walk the unofficial path, and this time I timed it!
Left The Ranch at 6:39
Arrived at The Inn parking lot at 7:05
Made it to my front door at 7:12
That’s only thirty-three minutes! I’ve never timed the long way, so I can’t say exactly how much faster this way is. Probably not THAT much, but it’s definitely a more direct route, and I never have to worry about a car hitting me if I walk too close to the side of the road.
So yeah, I’m VERY GLAD that Andy let me know this path exists.
