Right now I have so much Amazon shit arriving soonish that I am compelled to make a list.

COMICS & ONE BOOK-BOOK
* Invisible Woman: Partners in Crime
* Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour
* Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: Legion of Bats!
* Absolute Wonder Woman Volume 1
* Harley Quinn: Reckoning (when this arrives I will order book two, and when that arrives I will order book three)

EVERYTHING ELSE
* one 48-pack of DayQuil pills
* one 3-pack of ten-foot charging cables for my phone

. . . Huh, I thought I had more "everything else."

And of course I am fairly itching to order more comics and slash or book-books. When they're not comics it may "make sense" to buy them on my Kindle to "save space," but if I love a book enough it is easy to justify treating myself to a real book made of paper. For example, I have absolutely zero regrets about my recent purchase of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or my current plan to buy Harley's trilogy of novels. I could probably consolidate my two big drawers into one so that the free one could be dedicated to books and feel great about it. (Actually, as I'm typing, it occurs to me that I should actually put this on my list for tomorrow!) If all sixty-something Animorphs books were easy to find and affordable, I would totally treat myself; as is, I will be content to buy a box set of the first six books and then keep reading on my Kindle. I would prefer to buy a specific hardcover copy of Practical Magic (the one whose cover is a close-up of a painting of Persephone). It all depends, but either way, I guess the most important thing is just: yay, I'm actually reading a little more and watching teevee a little less! YAY, BOOKS!

Oh my FUCKING gods, tonight was rough. It didn't make me want to quit or anything, but lots of annoying things happened:

* My new boots arrived a few days early! They feel great and I was excited to wear them . . . but they are NOT non-slip, even though they claim to be, which was the main reason I bought them to replace my current work shoes. "Fortunately" I noticed how not non-slip they are very early into my shift, so for the rest of the night I knew I had to walk much more carefully than I am used to at work. The Shoes For Crews boots I found were out of stock, so I took a chance with some other company, and now I'm so fucking pissed.

* While filtering the fryer oil (a task I have successfully completed almost every night since I got switched to this overnight shift), I started with the left side just like always, wiped it with a wet cloth just like always, poured the oil back in just like always, and didn't notice that I forgot to close the valve until I felt oil splashing on my feet. I closed it a second or two later, but in the few seconds it was open it made a huge mess.

* One weekly task I had to do tonight was moving all the grills away from the wall so I could sweep & mop behind them. No problem. But as I was moving them back into place, some sort of oil chute thingy (I have no idea what it's actually called) fell off, and so did the part that is supposed to keep it in place, and I could not fucking figure out how to re-attach them. And the oil chute thingy literally catches oil, and apparently the cooks don't empty it every night, so I had to clean up a second oil spill.

* As usual, I was coughing & sneezing all the time. Seriously, this happens a lot at work. Tonight it occurred to me that I could be allergic to at least one of the cleaning chemicals I use every night. Yay.

* Another weekly task I had to do was deck scrubbing the floors. Simple enough in theory, but a combination of "our floors just love dirt so much" & "our floors don't get deck scrubbed enough because until recently no one was available to do it every week" meant that it was actually pretty difficult, like, physically. I put forth a valiant effort, but with all the coughing & sneezing I kept doing, at some point I just didn't care anymore, and when I signed off on this task I wrote a note that I should do this a little bit every night. I swear, we have floors and baseboards that attract dirt.

* When I was finally ready to wrap up and get the fuck out of there, I decided to do a tiny bit of last-minute mopping. One second after starting, I SNAPPED THE MOP HANDLE IN HALF.

Anyway, thank fucking goodness that the weekend started as soon as I clocked out! It's currently a little after 7:00, so I won't have to get ready to go back to work for sixty-something hours!

P.S. One nice thing that happened tonight: The cook whose name I don't know gave me pasta! Since my shift starts after the Inn stops serving employee meals, the cooks usually surprise me with something before they leave. Usually a cheeseburger or a turkey sandwich or whatever. All of which are great, but I definitely wasn't expecting pasta! That's guest food!

Hell Yeah

Something that didn’t occur to me until tonight is that Ben and I work different days of the week, so my new schedule does not mean I will be able to come home to an empty room every night of my work week.

However.

If my new schedule is consistently Tuesday night through Saturday night, and Ben continues to work early mornings Monday through Friday, that means my weekend will technically start on Sunday morning and last until 7:50 PM Tuesday, when my “Get ready! !!! !” alarm goes off.

So I will have the room to myself AND zero work on the horizon Monday mornings and Tuesday mornings.

Unfortunately, unlike me, Ben works close enough to come home on his breaks, which he usually does. Meaning I can enjoy my free time, but I do have to be discreet if I want to summon a demon or whatever.

As I’m typing this, it occurs to me that I might be sleeping through like half of every morning anyway. Regardless of how much alone time I might or might not have on any given morning.

Speaking of my schedule, I still haven’t stayed until 5:00. But tonight was the first time I stayed past 4:00. I clocked out at 4:09.

ryanreacts: (Default)
It’s a damn good thing that tonight is my Thursday. I am extra ready for this weekend to arrive so I can go to the ice cream parlor, buy a milkshake, walk it home, and drink it while watching something fun and eating a weed brownie!
ryanreacts: (Default)
I clocked out at 3:39. Then I ate two gummies, walked home, took a shower, and laid down to think about what I want to get done today.

(Note: My new schedule will be even better now that Ben has returned to work! Tonight is the first time it has worked out so that I come home and the room is completely all mine.)

Breakfast is at 6:00, so I suppose I have some free time until then. As I write this it’s almost 5:00.

On the way to breakfast, it would be awesome if I could remember to drop some
of my cardboard in the gigantic recycle bin.

After breakfast I should stop by the post office and pick up a pakidge.

When I get home and open the pakidge, I will spend a little time organizing. Part of this process will include opening the pakidge containing my Fifteen & Ruby dolls even though I will not be taking them out of their individual boxes at this time. But of course I know exactly when I will store them. Hence, “opening a box with two new dolls” equals “organizing.”

At some point today I will watch at least one episode of Harley Quinn, but probably more than just one . . .

(especially since my next episode will be the one that’s all about Batman—)

I suppose I might try to get a little sleep before lunch. Which I should try to eat asap after it’s available at 11:00. Then I need to get more sleep before dinner. I’ll set an alarm for 6:45 and another for 7:00. That will give me plenty of time to eat something before I have to get ready for work.

Do I have any other goals for today? None I can think of right now. The sleeping is fairly important, since I’m still adjusting to my new nocturnal schedule. Which is made more difficult by the fact that I started my work week with two normal evening shifts, although I was very happy to work those. But yeah, the point is, I’m still figuring out the best times to sleep. And do everything else I need or want to do in a day. But the sleeping is crucial, obviously.

About an hour ago, I watched the fourth episode of Harley Quinn season two. At this rate, I will finish the season in the next few days. The tie-in comic that takes place after season two is currently scheduled to arrive on August 7th or 8th, so I'll have to find something else to watch and/or read for a bit.

Speaking of other things to read, I haven't done it yet, but am definitely feeling an itch to buy Harley's book-books again. I never read the third one, even though it was released in April of last year!

Work has been work. The last time I did an overnight shift was Saturday. When I arrived, Jeremy was there instead of Chef, and he gave me much better instructions than Chef would have, so for the first time I actually liked my new schedule as much as I thought I would. Then I had two days off, then worked my old usual dinner shift on Tuesday and Wednesday, then tonight I'm back to overnights for the rest of the week. It looks like my weekend has been moved to Sunday & Monday (and, technically, most of Tuesday!), which is fine with me.

We also got some new bottles of degreaser, which will make it a lot easier for me to clean stuff.

Earlier today I picked up a pakidge from the post office. I ordered a twelve-pack of my favorite energy drinks from Walmart, and unlike Amazon they handled it with enough care that eight of the cans were not ruined. I'm not sure if I should continue to drink one before I even leave to catch the shuttle, though. It would probably make more sense to bring one to work with me and drink it after the other dishwasher goes home, right? That would make it a lot easier to actually stay until 5:00 even if I am done with my list, which would obviously be better for my bank account.

Anyway, yeah, I guess I'm feeling a lot better about my new schedule. Any shift is gonna have its own pluses & minuses, of course. This simply hasn't been an easy adjustment, since I've been so upset about Joey going to the hospital slash disappearing (and was & still am so goddamn fucking pissed off that no one told me such a huge change to my schedule was actually going to happen). Next week I am scheduled for five overnights in a row, so that should help settle into this new routine and leave July behind me. I am seriously glad this month ends tonight.

Still have no idea when I’ll be able to see First Steps, but I just ordered Invisible Woman: Partners in Crime! This trade paperback collects all five issues of a limited series that was published in 2019. I borrowed it from the library at least twice when I worked in La Mesa (right across the street from the library, such a dream). It’s a very fun story with great art. I am seriously excited to have my own copy in a week or so. Obviously I could have bought the Kindle version and downloaded it instantly, but I feel like paper comics are preferable to reading them on a screen, you know? So it’s worth waiting a while.

Speaking of, I pre-ordered the first volume (Issues #1-7) of Absolute Wonder Woman, which releases in a little more than two weeks! I read the first issue online months ago and it was fucking great. No surprise, when it’s written by Kelly Thompson. Sometime soon I want to order the first omnibus of her Captain Marvel run.

This won’t be released until December 30th, but at some point I should also pre-order the second volume of Storm!

And this one isn’t a comic, but another paper book I have incoming is The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Last time I read it was at least fifteen years ago, but I remember laughing my ass off many many times. This is supposed to arrive in a few days, and I will be thrilled when it does.

Eyes of Wakanda will be on DisneyPlus on August first, which is just a few days away! Just saw the trailer on yootoob, and of course it looks amazing!
ryanreacts: (Default)
I'm currently re-watching Broadchurch. This show has been on my radar for years because its cast includes several Doctor Who actors, but I could never bring myself to watch it because it literally begins with an eleven-year-old boy getting murdered. When I took my spontaneous time off to process my Joey stress, I decided this fictional tragedy would complement my actual turmoil quite well. I was right. When I finished it a few days ago, I thought the ending was perfect but still made me wish for more story. So I figured, why not, I'll go ahead and start it over again right away.

But what to watch next?

Will I return to my Doctor Who re-watch? If so, my next episode will be "Vampires of Venice." I think.

Obviously I'm not going to put myself through all eight seasons again any time soon, thank you very much --- but this trailer for season one of CHARMED is fucking epic and makes me wish every season of the show actually lived up to the potential of its premise.
So yeah, I might want to watch the first episode. Maybe a few more of my favorite season one episodes. Maybe one Paige episode. Ugh, I love this show even when I hate it.

DisneyPlus sent me a ridiculous notification earlier today. It says, "Pick up where you left off and see what happens next in The Little Mermaid." I laughed out loud, then took a screenshot that I sent to Lori, Frankie, and Jeremy.

I still haven't seen season five of Harley Quinn, so at some point in the nearish future I want to start it again from the beginning! And then I'll finally watch Kite Man.

I'll be watching season one of  Gen V again soon, because season two is coming up!

As for reading . . .

I think I'm feeling an itch to read Circle of Three again, and maybe this time I will actually write down some notes about it.

I'm not exactly feeling an itch to read Harry Potter again, but maybe just the first book on his birthday? It's in a few days.

Damn

I have no idea when I’ll be able to see the new Fantastic Four movie (sad note: Joey and I had kind of made plans to see it together, as well as Superman—I was pushing to see both on the same day if he was up for it), since there is no theater in the middle of the desert.

Obviously I do really want to see it.

(So far I have managed to avoid any major spoilers.)

Anyway, this morning I watched an interview where Vanessa Kirby goes into nerdy detail about Sue’s powers and it made me even more eager to see it sooner than later. Seriously, if Disney would allow this, I’d totally pay $20 (maybe even more) to be able to watch it on my Kindle right now.

In three and a half hours (or less!), I will be done with work for tonight. Then I’m off the next two days, AND THEN on Tuesday & Wednesday night I get to work my old usual shift, 4:00-11:00.

YEP, feels like a fucking vacation.

I bought this set for twenty percent off ($16 instead of $20) and picked it up from the post office today!

I opened them in this order:
  1. Wonder Woman - Normally I don't love it when Wonder Woman wears a cape, but these toys have a real "kids dressing up as DC characters" vibe that makes it work.
  2. Poison Ivy - Yay! I love her. Of course.
  3. Catwoman - You don't normally see Catwoman with pigtails, but I love it.
  4. Superman - Why is he wearing glasses when he's not dressed as Clark? Maybe because he's a kid pretending to be Superman.
  5. Supergirl - She has BROWN HAIR and a darker skin tone than her cousin. Which may have been inspired by her appearance in The Flash movie that only one hundred people ever bothered to see, or maybe it's because she's a kid playing dress-up.
  6. Batman - His little smirk is so cute.
  7. Batgirl - Glasses instead of an actual mask? Visible pigtails? Yep, that's a kid who wants to be Batgirl when she grows up.
  8. Reverse Flash - Including him with the rest of these characters was an interesting choice, but I love how annoyed he looks!
  9. Bumblebee - I'm always happy to see her, and has her hair ever been cuter?
  10. Harley Quinn - YAY, my favorite DC character! She's sticking her tongue out, which is cute.
  11. The Joker - Gotta be the cutest, most kid-friendly Joker I've ever seen.
  12. and the "exclusive mystery character," who the Amazon photo made me think was Clark Kent, but no: He is a shiny silver Superman! Awesome!

According to the collector's guide that came with it, there are only a few more figures who weren't included in this set. Lex Luthor and The Flash are common; Shazam, Aquaman, Mera, and Blue Beetle are rare; and shiny versions of The Flash and Blue Beetle are ultra rare. (The guide doesn't mention the shiny silver Superman who came with the set, so it's possible that other characters exist.)

Will I be trying to track any of them down? Probably not. Mera is pretty cute, and Lex looks so annoyed that he's adorable, but I'm rather happy with the twelve I got. If they made another set of twelve, I would probably buy that. Especially if it included some Teen Titans. Or maybe a few more villains. If they ever released a set of twelve Teens Titans characters and a set of twelve villains, I would definitely buy both of those

I will be alone for most of my shift.

For example, tomorrow night. The new dishwasher is scheduled until 11:00, but will probably make it out before then with or without my help.

Four cooks are scheduled to leave at 10:00.

Chef’s schedule just says ON, which means he can leave whenever he wants. (I hope he is still there when I arrive, but I’m prepared for the possibility that he might not be.)

I didn’t check the FOH schedule, but I doubt the servers and either Chuck or Colleen will be there much longer than an hour or two after I arrive.

So, yeah, for the majority of my overnight shifts I will be completely, utterly alone.

Switching was worth it just for that.

Today is Thursday, aka My Monday.

The shuttle leaves the EDR parking lot at 3:30. It's usually parked 5-10 minutes before that, but it wasn't today, which usually means that the driver is driving a guest or something, so I did not even consider calling the front desk to ask where it was. It did show up a few minutes before 3:30, and we left right on time.

By 3:35, as usual, I had taken a seat at the rock house. I always have about twenty minutes between getting off the shuttle and my "Clock in!" alarm, so I like to chill with my phone outside before I even step into the kitchen. I'm usually alone, but not always, and not today - that new cook who either never introduced himself, or did tell me his name and I forgot it, was already there when I sat down.

He asked me if we had hired a new dishwasher. I said I didn't know, but that would be great. He said he was pretty sure we actually had hired a new one, and then went on to describe her, and even say that he thought he had seen her get off the shuttle with me.

With this in mind, when my alarm went off at 3:55, I walked in through the other door so that I could immediately check the schedule.

Indeed, it said that a new dishwasher would be working my usual shift tonight.

And I would be working 9:00 pm to 5:00 am.

Every night for the rest of the week.

Inhale, exhale.

Okay. So, it just happened that when I got home from work on Monday night, Jeremy (who is Chef when Chef isn't there; I typically work with him three nights a week, so I actually see him more than Chef) was hanging out with two people whose names I don't know. He saw me walking in the direction of the building and called me over to tell me something. (He happened to be a bit drunk, so he was even more amusing to be around than usual.) He asked me if I wanted to be the night porter. Because we hired a new dishwasher, which means we have enough for someone to switch to overnight stewarding, and Chef did offer it to Andy, but Andy said I wanted it, so Chef told Jeremy to ask me. I said hell yeah I wanted it, but won't be holding my breath since I thought I was gonna make that switch months ago until I officially applied and got denied because I don't have a fucking driver's license . . .

and that was that. We confirmed again that, yes, I would love to clean the kitchen overnight, he initiated a fist bump, and then I said good night and left to start my weekend - which, in my mind, would be ending at 4:00 pm today unless I heard otherwise.

But I didn't hear anything, so my brain went into My Monday Autopilot without even thinking about it.

SO YEAH, I was quite shocked when I walked in at 3:55 to find out I wasn't actually supposed to be there until 9:00 pm. Seriously, this is how I find out I need to abruptly adjust my sleep schedule? SERIOUSLY? Phones exist, y'all! Email, text, voicemail, etc! Communicate, GOSH!

Chef usually isn't there when I clock in, and today was no exception. I could not find any kind of in-charge person anywhere in the entire kitchen, so the best plan I could come up with on the spot was, pretty much: wait for the next shuttle, get home asap, try to take a nap, catch the 8:30 shuttle so I can be back here at 9:00 pm, stay awake all night without preparing for it---

"The next shuttle" would be leaving The Ranch at 4:30, which should mean it would arrive at The Inn by 4:35. When it hadn't shown up by 4:45, I was starting to panic about my dwindling time available to get any rest before working all night long with zero notice, and I was not in any mood to call the front desk and ask where the shuttle might be, so I just said fuck it and started to walk home . . . but I had barely started the walk when the shuttle did approach. Tyler saw me and immediately slowed down, then stopped and let me get in. He picked up two more employees on the way, and they both talked about how it seems like the shuttle schedule changes too often without letting people fucking know about it in advance. I think I bit my tongue to stop from saying, "Gee, that sounds familiar."

(As I'm typing this, I remember that when Tyler picked me up he asked if they didn't need me tonight. I told him no one told me my schedule had changed and joked, "Somebody needs to invent email already!" And then he mentioned that he had noticed that the new dishwasher was in the same shuttle as me and that seemed a little funny.)

Anyway, I got home around 5:00, which meant I would have about three hours before I needed to get ready to catch the 8:30 shuttle. I took a shower, then laid down and tried to trick my body into getting some perfect rest until my first brand-new "get ready" alarm went off at 7:50.

But no, this whole thing was far too stressful for me to get that much rest in that little time.

I'm honestly not sure if Chef has my email address (or my phone number, for that matter). I'm not sure if anyone in F & B has any of my contact info. When I overheard Chuck and Jeremy talking about how no one knows anything about Joey, Chuck said, "I'm Assistant Manager and I don't have anyone's contact info."

But SERIOUSLY, how fucking difficult would it have been for somebody to give me some sort of notice that my schedule was about to change? The new schedule (which starts today) had not been posted the last time I checked it, which was Monday evening, aka My Friday.

I was a little anxious about calling out tonight, since I called out twice last week due to angry stomach, but after some pro-con weighing I said fuck it and typed up that email and flat-out told them, "I just need one day to try to adjust my sleep schedule."

Can I stay awake until 5:00 AM and then get enough sleep during the day to work all night tomorrow?

Guess I'll find out.
_______

Let's see, if I'm leaving work at 5:00 AM, I might as well get into the habit of eating breakfast as soon as it's available at 6:00. By 7:00, I can be showered and ready for some sleep!  I think I'll set an alarm for either 11:00 or 12:00. That will give me time to get lunch and then go to the post office. If I don't have any pakidges, I might buy a snack or two from the general store on my way home. I'll be home by 1:00 or 2:00, which gives me plenty of time to get some more rest.

When, though? To get to work at 9:00 pm I'll have to catch the 8:30 shuttle, which means if I want to sleep as late as possible I'll want to make myself wake up at 7:50 so I can be ready to walk out the door at 8:15.

The EDR serves dinner from 4:00 to 9:00, so if I DON'T want to sleep as late as possible I could be eating until like 8:25 and still catch the 8:30 shuttle. Do I want to be eating that late, though? Would it be better to eat sooner? I don't know, but I am seriously glad that I will now be able to go to the EDR for dinner every night! The free food we can get at work is good, but the options are limited. Like when I thought I would be working my usual evening shift tonight, I figured I would order either a chicken quesadilla & regular fries or a chicken salad or just a portion of chicken. All of which are good (the chicken salad sounds particularly tasty right now), but they do get a bit boring when I eat them all the time.

But since I'm not working that shift, I went to the EDR and had some potatoes, beefy spaghetti, a chicken breast, and two King's Hawaiian rolls. SO MUCH BETTER!

I'll have to figure out what time to take my lunch break when I'm working overnight, and get into a habit of bringing snacks with me. The cooks might or might not leave me any food, which is fine since I'll be able to eat at the EDR three times a day now. I don't have that many snacks to choose from right now, but do have some arriving soon, but should probably go ahead and order some more . . .

Oy, it's only 9:12. Can I actually stay awake all night long? Ben happens to be gone, so if I need to I can do jumping jacks or something without worrying about bothering him. Obviously I'll watch something. I've had some gummies and would like more, but that won't exactly make it easier to stay awake all night, but I am planning to take a break from weed this week---

I guess I might want to order some energy drinks. And granola bars. What else do I want to eat or drink when I'm working overnight? Crackers. Trail mix. Rice cakes. If the EDR has free bananas, that would be fucking helpful.

One nice thing about this schedule change is that 9:00 pm to 5:00 am equals forty hours a week (actually less, thanks to mandatory lunch breaks, but still). In the weeks since my hours got cut, I have been quite content to have more time in front of my box fan in exchange for a little less money, but working overnight will be so much cooler that I am very pleased to get bumped back up to full time! Thanks, Chef.

(Still annoyed with you for the total lack of notice about this schedule change, though.)

I do need to find out exactly what I'm supposed to do every night. If I arrive at 9:00, I can help the other dishwasher (or not - business has been so slow lately that I'm usually done around 10:30, so they may not even want my help), but then what? Will Chef/Jeremy/Colleen/Chuck give me different tasks every night? Will I keep the entire kitchen's floors & walls sparkling and then also just clean whatever I feel like?

Another question! How am I supposed to write down my times on the sheet when I'm clocking in one night and then technically clocking out the next day? Each day has its own sheet, so---? I know that the sheet is really only there just in case the time clock ever malfunctions, so it's usually not crucially important, but I do need to clarify the protocol for this.

Okay, I think those are all of my concerns about this. So, to review:

5:00 AM - Clock out!
6:00 AM - Breakfast!
7:00 AM - Wrap up shower time, put on pajamas, sleep!
11:00 AM or 12:00 PM - Lunch, post office, maybe general store
12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - More sleep!
6:30 PM (?) - Dinner!
7:50 PM - Get ready for work!
8:15 PM - Out the door!
8: 30 PM - Shuttle
8:55 PM - Clock in!

I think that's my ideal schedule for tomorrow.

I don't know if I will actually pay my T-Mobile bill for the rest of the year in one transaction, BUT I did just switch to an annual plan for WalmartPlus a few days ago. It was on sale. I got a whole year for $50, instead of paying $13 every month. After a year it will switch to the normal annual plan rate of $98, which is definitely worth it when I need stuff shipped to me in the middle of the desert.

But some stuff is randomly not available to be shipped here, so Prime is also worth it. I'm currently paying $15 every month. If I switch to an annual plan, it would be $139.

If I make that switch, my only monthly bills will be T-Mobile & streaming services. That would feel nice.

Maybe I can start 2026 by paying my T-Mobile bill for the entire year. That would feel nice, too.

Gasp! It literally just occurred to me that most streaming services also have annual plans! At any time, but preferably on a nice fat payday, I could easily treat myself to an entire year of DisneyPlus slash Hulu or HBO Max or Netflix . . .

UPDATE: Okay, I did go ahead and switch to an annual plan for Prime. With DisneyPlus slash Hulu, I can't find an annual plan that includes both of them, so my current plan of $20 per month for both is just fine. If I also switch to an annual plan for HBO Max, that would make T-Mobile & DisneyPlus slash Hulu my only month bills. (I'm not paying for Netflix at the moment.) That would be kind of amazing, wouldn't it?

Woo Hoo

This morning I received the official text message notification:

My next T-Mobile bill will be $65.17! !!! !

If I hadn't returned my useless-in-the-middle-of-the-desert router, my bill would continue to be significantly higher.

So, yes, that feels fucking great!

(I actually looked into this on their website the other day. Apparently I get a small credit for returning the device in good condition, so after July 31st my bill should be approximately $75 per month! Hmmmm, you know, I could easily pay my bill for the rest of the year at any time . . . )

It's currently 1:45 PM on day three of this wonderful three-day weekend, so I thought I should check in with the list of goals that I wrote on Tuesday.
  • get rid of all unused cardboard boxes - Just have a few more to take to the recycle bin, but I'd kind of like to wait until the sun goes down
  • wear at least one face mask for 15-20 minutes - Still haven't done this, I don't know whyyyyy
  • clean bathroom - Not yet, but right before I sat down to write this update I did spray the shower and the toilet with Scrubbing Bubbles
  • laundry, of course--- Well, like I said: of course---
  • watch a movie - I did on Tuesday! Black Panther! Yesterday I just watched more Doctor Who, so I would quite like to watch at least one more movie before this weekend ends . . .
  • go to the ice cream parlor and get a milkshake - I did this yesterday! It was so goddamn fucking delicious that I am kind of sort of tempted to go back for another one today?
  • make a new playlist for work - Done!
  • vacuum - Not yet
  • drink wine - Yes, I finally drank that bottle Joey brought me from Costco like two months ago on Tuesday night! It was quite nice!
  • organize - Heck yes! Bag, little drawer, both big drawers! I love organizing! !!! !
  • watch Doctor Who! - Well, obviously. Maybe not quite as much as I thought I would have watched by now, but that's okay. Bill's last two episodes will be bittersweet as always.
  • shave my stupid face - Did it this morning!
  • order new bag - Currently estimated to arrive on Monday!
  • drink plenty of water - Well, yes. I do live in the middle of the desert!
  • laugh a lot - Well, yes. Gummies do have that effect!

It is now 2:02 PM. Obviously there are a few things that really need to get done sooner than later, but look how much stuff has already been crossed off the list! Clearly, I have been slash will continue to be productive with this wonderful amazing magical time of No Work PLUS No Roommate.

Okey dokey! Time to close my laptop, eat some more gummies, and then start cleaning the bathroom!

It was Black Panther, which is still bloody brilliant and a lot of fun to watch.

Shortly before pushing play on it, I started downloading The Great Mouse Detective, so that is officially an option if slash when I feel like watching another entire movie later today. Can't remember the last time I watched this one, no idea why it popped into my head a few days ago, but 100% certain it will be great to watch when I'm stoned.

Speaking of: It's currently ten past one on day two of my three-day weekend. I've had six gummies so far (four Sour Apple, then two Orange some time later). I went to the EDR for the first time in at least a week for lunch. It was okay. I may or may not go back there for dinner. Other than that my only plans for the rest of today involve self-care, getting stone'd, and watching Doctor Who and slash or other stuff that's fun to watch when I've eaten many gummies.
