Work Stuff
May. 4th, 2026 06:00 pmThe first thing is that my schedule is going to be a bit different for the next week. Well, actually, tomorrow and the next day are my usual 6:00-2:00, but then
on Thursday (usually My Friday) I am OFF, and from Friday until Monday I am working a 7:00-3:00 so Kyle can take four days off, and then on Tuesday I am OFF, then on Wednesday it's another 6:00-2:00,
and that's currently as far as the schedule goes.
The second thing is that a new guy started today.
Of course he is welcome, but I am a little anxious about it, because unless somebody is about to leave I'm not sure if we really need him. He's only scheduled for dinner closing shifts, which does mean that there will always be two of us scheduled to work that shift (until today, Alex usually worked John's nights off by himself). Which is a win, even if the last week or so nights have been slow enough that we barely need a second person.
I am somewhat amused to see that on Saturday all three of them are scheduled. Will anyone call out? I look forward to finding out!
And I suppose I will need to touch base with Chef. Tomorrow and the next night, there will probably be zero need for me to help John with dinner dishes, as the new guy will also be there, so I probably won't need to do any dishes at all.
He might have a few specific projects for me, but I am pretty good at keeping myself busy. Today I had plenty of time to take care of all the usual eating dishes or cooking dishes, but also get other stuff done. I definitely have one big time-consuming task in mind that I'd like to take care of this week.
Aaaahhhhh, while I'm thinking about it, I gotta wrap this up and go charge my portable speaker!
